The Weisenburger Group ( spelling weenburger ) is a third generation owner-managed and internationally operating group of companies with headquarters in Rastatt. In 2020 the group will move its headquarters to Karlsruhe . About 450 people are employed. There is one branch and two branches in Karlsruhe, further branches are in Stuttgart , Darmstadt , Frankfurt , Düsseldorf , Rottweil , Ulm , Heilbronn , Heidelberg and in Freiburg im Breisgau .

history

On May 1, 1955, the civil engineer and architect Herbert Weisenburger founded the construction company in Rastatt as managing partner . In 1960 the company expanded to include turnkey construction and the first branch was opened in Karlsruhe.

In 1990 the Herbert Weisenburger Foundation was brought into being. The purpose of the foundation is to support the Rastatt Municipal Gallery. In 1994 Rainer Weisenburger took over the company, who ran it in the second generation. In 1998 the company sponsored the first German Inline Hockey Championship.

In 2000 an office was opened in Freiburg, followed by the opening of an office in Stuttgart in 2011. Just one year later, further branches followed in Frankfurt and Karlsruhe. In addition, there was a generation change in the management team in 2012: Rainer Weisenburger handed over management to his son Nicolai Weisenburger. In 2013, the building block sampling center was also built in Karlsruhe.

After Weisenburger was significantly involved in the new building projects in the Karlsruhe Südstadt (City Park), the new company headquarters are currently being built at Ludwig-Erhard-Allee 21. The administration building, which is due to be completed by the end of 2020 and was planned by the Japanese star architect Tadao Andō , will have seven floors on the street side and four floors on around 13,000 square meters at the rear.
