Hayley Wheaton has better grades in school than her older sister Alexia, who in turn dresses more stylishly, is more popular and has a boyfriend. The sisters envy each other. One day after waking up, they find that each is in the other's body. Hayley enjoys the move first, especially meeting her sister's boyfriend Kyle Harding.

When the sisters discover that the swap could take longer, each tries to ruin an important aspect of the other sister's life. They later decide that Hayley should show that Alexia is capable of intellectual achievements, while Alexia should find a friend for her in her sister's body. They swap bodies again during the Winter Festival . Alexia is crowned queen of the event while Hayley dances with her neighbor Simon.

Reviews

"Lively youth comedy that strives for some depth within the genre."

Janet Branagan wrote in the Apollo Movie Guide that the film was " nice " and " entertaining ", but without much substance. Heigl and Harris would provide " solid representations " while the plot had numerous weak points.

Cinema magazine called the film " uninspired body swap high school fun ".

The film won the Heartland Film Festival's Crystal Heart Award in 1997 .
