Werner Delbrück

Werner Hugo Wilhelm Delbrück (born December 31, 1868 in Züllchow ; † June 17, 1910 on a balloon ride from Stettin to Rügen near Sassnitz ) was a chemist, director of the Heringsdorf seaside resort and a member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Delbrück attended the Royal Marienstifts-Gymnasium in Stettin from 1877 to 1882 , then the Royal King Wilhelms-Gymnasium in Stettin until 1889. He studied from 1890 to 1895 at the universities of Berlin , Freiburg i. B. and Greifswald chemistry and physics. On March 3, 1895 he received his doctorate in phil. in Greifswald. In 1893 he was a volunteer at the Stettiner Portland cement factory in Züllchow. In 1895/96 he was a chemist in the Portland cement factory of Dyckerhoff & Sons in Biebrich . From 1896 to 1899 he was an industrial chemist in the Stettiner Portland cement factory Lossius-Delbrück in Züllchow. From 1899 he was director of the Aktien-Gesellschaft Seebad Heringsdorf. He served asAnnual volunteer from 1889 to 1890 with the foot artillery regiment v. Hindersin pomm. No. 2. in Swinoujscie and became an officer in the foot artillery regiment No. 10 in Strasbourg and lieutenant in Landwehr II. From 1902 he was a member of the municipal council of the seaside resort of Heringsdorf and from 1903 a member of the Usedom-Wollin district council. From 1907 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency district of Stettin 2 Ueckermünde , Usedom-Wollin and the Liberal Association .

He was an avid balloonist and died on April 3, 1910 in an accident on a balloon flight from Stettin to Rügen.
