Werner Fischer (born December 19, 1925 in Danzig ; † September 4, 1998 ) was a German politician of the NPD .

Life

After attending school, Fischer completed an apprenticeship as an optician in 1940 . At the same time he continued his education in evening school and was then admitted to the " Langemarck-Studium ".

From January 30, 1943 to May 8, 1945 Fischer was in the 2nd medical department of the 10th SS Panzer Division "Frundsberg" .

After being seriously wounded, he was taken prisoner of war, from which he was released in 1946. After initially being employed as a foreman in a disabled facility in Flensburg , he worked as an electric welder at the Flensburger Schiffbau-Gesellschaft from 1948 to 1950 . After successfully completing the technical school for optics and photo technology in Berlin, he worked as managing director of an optician and at the same time chaired the Federal Association of non-self-employed opticians. In 1960 he started his own business in Kassel .

Fischer was district chairman of the NPD in Kassel and was also a member of the party's Hessian state executive. From December 1, 1966 to November 30, 1970, he was a member of the state parliament in Hesse . From June 10, 1969 to July 14, 1970 he was parliamentary group leader of the NPD in the state parliament . The state parliament elected him in 1969 as a member of the Federal Assembly , which elected Gustav Heinemann as Federal President .

On September 17, 1969, he is said to have offered Klaus Kolley , the NPD's “security officer”, shelter and an opportunity to escape in his house in Kassel after he was said to have shot left-wing demonstrators. As a result, windows were later thrown in Fischer's house and bags of paint were thrown on the walls. The Hessian state parliament lifted Fischer's immunity in order to initiate proceedings on suspicion of beneficiary . Fischer denied the allegations, but these were confirmed by his own son.
