Werner K. Bliss

Werner K. Bliss (born March 10, 1950 in Schiltach ) is a German artist and writer .

life and work

Werner K. Bliss studied chemistry and mathematics at the Lörrach University of Education from 1969 to 1972 . He then taught at various schools in the Black Forest until 2013 (from 1985 to 1991 at the German School in Porto ).

Bliß paints, draws, collages, creates sculptures and writes poems, which are created over and over again by dealing with works of art - among others by Nicole Bianchet , Peter Doig , Elisabeth Endres , Armin Göhringer , Marianne Hopf, Christoph Meckel , Werner Pokorny , Cy Twombly and Vitali Vitanov - inspired and published in anthologies, internet portals, art catalogs and literary magazines. In 2007, José FA Oliver invited him to the Hausacher Reading Lenz literature festival .

In addition to exhibitions of his own pictures and objects (in Freiburg, Hausach and Schiltach), Bliss worked with young Afghans and Syrians in his studio in 2016/17 and presented the results in the exhibition MIGRATION INTERAKTION INTEGRATION .

In 2019 the poem book Combed Time was published by Pop Verlag . It is among other things a comprehensive selection of paintings poems , in which he attaches new meanings in rhythmically sophisticated language words.

Werner K. Bliss lives in Hausach .
