Werner Marti (politician)
Werner Marti (born April 20, 1957 in Glarus ) is a Swiss lawyer and politician ( Social Democratic Party ). He was a member of the National Council from 1991 to the end of 2008 .
biography
Werner Marti was a member of the municipal council of Sool and the district administrator of the Canton of Glarus from 1986 to 1990 . From 1990 to 1998 he was a member of the government of the Canton of Glarus. From 1996 to 2004 Werner Marti was the price supervisor . In 2004 he was defeated by Hans-Jürg Fehr in the election of the SP Switzerland party president . Werner Marti had been a member of the National Council since November 25, 1991. He ran in the election on February 10, 2008 for the vacated seat of Fritz Schiesser in the Council of States , but was defeated by Pankraz Friday .
Marti resigned from the National Council at the end of 2008 and joined the Board of Directors of AlpTransit Gotthard Ltd on January 1, 2009 , and was elected President in spring 2009. On December 18, 2009 he was elected as the new President of the Board of Directors of Billag on January 1, 2010 .
Werner Marti is a citizen of Sool .
