Wernsdorf ( Lower Sorbian Wernaŕejce ) is a suburb of the city of Königs Wusterhausen in the Dahme-Spreewald district in Brandenburg .

geography

Wernsdorf is located on the Oder-Spree Canal and southeast of Berlin . In north-south direction it lies between Gosen and Niederlehme , to the east along the A 10 motorway .

Community structure

Wernsdorf consists of the two districts of Wernsdorf itself and Ziegenhals .

history

Wernsdorf was first mentioned in a document in 1460. The former fishing village gained in importance in the years 1887 to 1891 , primarily through the construction of the Oder-Spree Canal and the Wernsdorfer Schleuse (now a technical monument ). As a result of the regional reform on October 26, 2003, seven forced incorporations took place, since then the places Zeesen , Kablow , Niederlehme , Senzig , Wernsdorf, Zernsdorf and Diepensee belong to the city of Königs Wusterhausen . The first six places mentioned were previously united in the Lower Dahmeland Office . Lawsuits against the compulsory consolidation were dismissed in March 2006. In order to be able to individually address the often identical street names in the districts, but nevertheless under the city name "Königs Wusterhausen", new postcodes were assigned to some districts of Königs Wusterhausen from January 1, 2009. Streets were renamed beforehand.

During the GDR era, a children's holiday camp was operated in the village .
