West German football championship 1902/03
The West German soccer championship 1902/03 was the first competition organized by the Rheinisch-Westfälischer Spiel-Verband . The winner was the Cölner FC 1899 . Since at this time neither the Rheinische Spiel-Verband nor a single West German club were members of the DFB , the Cologne team did not take part in the German championship .
District champions were initially determined in the districts of Cologne, Lower Rhine and Rhine / Ruhr. The three district champions determined the West German champions in the league system.
