Westendorp ( Westendarp in Lower Saxony ) is a village in Gelderschen Achterhoek , in the Dutch municipality of Oude IJsselstreek , in the province of Gelderland . It has 860 inhabitants.

The nature areas Tandem and Noorderbroek and the Hoenderbosch estate are located near Westendorp. There are two primary schools with different educational orientations: a Jenaplan school and a primary school for Dalton education .

Culture and club life

Westendorp has an active club life. There is a mixed choir, a theater group and an organizational group for various festivities. On January 1st, 2015 the only café in the village, the "Café Zaal De Vos" , became the property of a foundation (Stichting Westendorphuus), which would like to convert the café into a cultural center "Kultuurhus de Vos". The SV Westendorp is the football club and the SEV gymnastics association of the village. In addition, the village has its own fanfare choir : the W estendorpse Fanfare . There is also a billiards and a shooting club.

The information sheet "Kwartaaltje" has been providing quarterly information about all activities in the village since 1997.
