Season 1: The Maze
The first season premiered on HBO between October 2 and December 4, 2016 . The second episode was first released two days before it was broadcast on the broadcaster's streaming platforms, as the broadcast on October 9, 2016, coincided with the second TV election debate between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton . The German-language first broadcast took place from February 2 to March 2, 2017 on Sky Atlantic HD in double episodes.

| Dolores and Teddy are two androids who have been programmed to desire each other in the Westworld theme park without actually having a relationship with each other. The park uses the androids known as "hosts" to amuse the park guests, who can participate in scripted actions in the replica of the Wild West. One evening, Dolores and Teddy are attacked by a mysterious, black-clad guest at the theme park. He claims to be looking for a riddle. Also, some of the hosts behave differently, which is why Dr. Bernard, who is waiting for the hosts, is planning a major investigation on them. Dolores' father finds a photograph that a guest apparently left in the park. Then he too behaves in an unusual way. Dr. Ford, the creator of the park and many Westworld storylines, examines it and asks a few questions, whereupon Dolores' father quotes Shakespeare and announces that he wants revenge on the creators of the hosts. Dolores is also being investigated but appears to be working properly. Her memory is erased and she starts the day again without showing any visible reaction to the new host who has been appointed to replace her father. She walks on the porch and kills a fly - an act that her code actually forbids, since androids are not allowed to kill. | ||||||||

| The two guests Logan and William come to Westworld. While Logan already knows the park and its adventures, this is still new territory for the reserved William. Maeve, a host who is hired as a prostitute in the park, keeps having flashbacks that she shouldn't have. Because of this, she is examined and awakened in the process. She sees the premises of Delos, the company that operates Westworld, as well as other hosts about to be restored for the next day after her death in the park. The Man in Black, meanwhile, saves the criminal host Lawrence from death, in the hope that he will help him uncover the mystery. He finally receives this help from his daughter. | Teddy tries to teach Dolores how to shoot pistol, but her coding apparently prevents a revolver from being fired. Furthermore, Teddy receives a new background story, which should give his existence a meaning: All his suffering has its origin in the villain Wyatt. Elsie and Bernard are investigating host Walter, who killed several other hosts who injured him in previous storylines and which he apparently can remember. He also appears to be having conversations with someone named Arnold even though he is alone in the room. Elsie sets out with Stubbs to find a stray host who is walking randomly through the park. When they finally find him, they are first attacked by him before he executes himself with a stone. Meanwhile, Dr. Ford Bernard from his former partner, Arnold, who died years ago while trying to give the hosts a human consciousness. In the park, Dolores is attacked by robbers on her father's ranch. When one of the intruders tries to assault her, she manages to shoot him with his revolver and flee from the others. | Logan decides to end the bounty hunt and mocks William for bringing Dolores with him. They catch the fugitive, but Logan decides on a more exciting adventure and delivers the fugitive to his boss. Meanwhile, the Man in Black, accompanied by Lawrence, is on the hunt for snakes and finds Armistice with her snake tattoo. He forcibly freed Escaton from prison for her, whereupon she tells him that the tattoo represents all of the men from Wyatt's group killed before her. The Man in Black and Lawrence ride on and rescue a tortured teddy bear. Cullen takes over investigation of the stray host because she doesn't trust Elsie and Bernard. She meets Ford about his new storyline, but he demands that she not interfere by hinting at his knowledge of her past and affair with Lowe. Maeve has visions, and during Escaton and Armistice's attack on the town and the saloon, with his help, she finds a bullet in her stomach that proves their visions are real. | Elsie finds out that someone used the stray to send information from the park. She reports it to Bernard. The Man in Black kills Lawrence to use his blood to strengthen Teddy's weakened organism. The two meet Ford, who protests that he will not stop the man in black on his search for the labyrinth. Dolores, William and Logan travel to the city of Pariah, where they meet the criminal gang leader El Lazo. They are supposed to steal a car from the Union Army that has loaded explosives that he wants to sell to former Confederates. They can loot the car, but contrary to their plan to shed blood, they do not have to kill the Union soldiers. Dolores has visions of herself in which she advises herself to find the labyrinth. She realizes that El Lazo is cheating on the Confederates and has other plans with the explosives. But the Confederates notice the fraud and Dolores, William and El Lazo, who introduces himself to them as Lawrence, flee. Logan they leave behind. After the shooting in the saloon, Maeve wakes up in the control center and confronts the terrified technician Felix that she is conscious. | ||||||||

| The Man in Black and Teddy encounter a Union outpost on their search for Wyatt. A soldier recognizes Teddy and accuses him of being Wyatt's accomplice. Teddy remembers and kills all soldiers. Teddy explains that the labyrinth is part of Indian folklore. Lee Sizemore flirts with a visitor who later turns out to be a member of the Delos board. She was sent to watch the parking operations. Theresa ends the relationship with Bernard because Ford knows about it and she fears a conflict of interest for quality assurance. Bernard finds out that Ford created a family of hosts based on his own in an unregistered cottage in the park. Elsie continues to get to the bottom of the signals and is able to locate the source in an abandoned theater. She finds out that Theresa is behind it. She also finds out that the first hosts were programmed by someone named Arnold. Before she can find out anything else, however, she is overwhelmed by a stranger in the theater. Robert meets the boy from his host family who killed his dog and says Arnold told him so. Meanwhile, Maeve is shown through the labs and she realizes that her world is only an illusion. It forces the technicians Felix and Sylvester to change their programming and to set their consciousness values to the maximum. | ||||||||

| Not only Theresa but also Charlotte is involved in the data theft. The plan is to be able to shut Ford down and fire him without running the risk of irreversibly destroying his work. In order to discredit Ford, the host Clementine is reprogrammed and used in a bogus attack for which Ford is held responsible. Bernard is held responsible for incorrect codes and is fired by Charlotte. William and Dolores get closer on the train they escaped on and they sleep together. William realizes that the park is not there to meet the needs of the guests, but to expose the character of the people. The train is attacked by Confederados, but they are able to escape. Maeve realizes that her familiar Clementine character has been replaced by another host and the original Clementine has been retired. She decides to leave the park with the help of Felix and Sylvester. Bernard reveals to Theresa that he knows about her sabotage. He takes her to the hidden cottage. They discover a laboratory below and find plans that prove that Bernard is also a host. Ford appears and gets Bernard to kill Theresa. | ||||||||

| After Bernard trashed all evidence of his and Ford's involvement in Theresa's murder, Ford erased Bernard's memories of it and his relationship with Theresa, so that he later claims to have barely known Theresa. Theresa's death is classified as an accident, the espionage and Clementine's reprogramming is blamed on her, so that Bernard is reinstated as head of behavior. Charlotte recruits Lee to help her. In a cold store, she loads all the data into the command module of Peter Abernathy, Dolores' father. Maeve forces Felix and Sylvester to give her admin privileges for other hosts, as well as removing the explosives in their backs that are preventing all hosts from leaving the park. She has visions of her past life with her daughter and how she is attacked by the Man in Black. William and Dolores reach their destination, the abandoned town of Escalante, where Dolores no longer knows what reality and present is because of constant new visions. On the way back to Sweetwater, they are intercepted by a group of Confederados under Logan's leadership. Teddy and the Man in Black meet the host Angela, who was previously assigned as the receptionist. Teddy learns that the Man in Black killed Dolores and is looking for the maze to find meaning after his wife's suicide. | Bernard questions Maeve, who uses her newly acquired admin rights to freeze him, revealing that she knows he's a host. Back in the park, Maeve meets Hector Escaton and asks him to help her leave the park. Logan cuts open Dolores' stomach to show William that she is not real. She escapes and suddenly the wound in the abdomen is gone. In Escalante Church, she has visions from before and realizes that she killed Arnold. She meets the man in black. Logan wakes up to find that William killed all of the Confederados. William is noticeably changed and says he now knows how to play the game. He ties Logan and forces him to go looking for Dolores. Charlotte meets the man in black who turns out to be a board member of Delos. Stubbs examines a signal from Elsie's tablet and is ambushed by Ghost Nation warriors who ignore his voice commands. Bernard, realizing he is a host again, forces Robert to give him his memories. Reliving his son's death and other painful memories, he realizes that it is based on Arnold, Robert's former partner. Bernard tries to kill Robert, but Robert uses a special code to get Bernard to kill himself. | ||||||||

| The Man in Black wants to learn more about Wyatt and the maze from Dolores. He turns out to be William, who was at Westworld with his brother-in-law Logan 30 years ago and fell in love with Dolores. Dolores recalls that Arnold ordered her to kill him so the park wouldn't open. She is Wyatt. Old William abuses her, but she can knock him down and is saved by Teddy. Maeve finds Bernard's body and asks Felix to fix it. Bernard tells Maeve that even her idea of escape was programmed, but she doesn't believe it. On her way to the underground train station, she discovers that there are other themed worlds such as the Shogun World. With the help of Hector, she finally reaches the train that brings the guests from Westworld, but then decides to stay to look for her daughter. Teddy and Dolores reach the coast where Dolores dies. But this scene turns out to be part of Ford's new narrative thread, which he unveils in front of an invited audience of investors and executives. Dolores is brought to the laboratory and reactivated. Ford says he wanted the hosts to fight back and had worked towards it for the past few decades. At the evening reception that followed, Ford gave a speech when he was shot from behind by Dolores. At the same moment the command center loses its energy. The guests panic and Dolores begins shooting them all, just like in Teddy's old vision of Wyatt. | ||||||||

The second season premiered on the US television channel HBO from April 22 to June 24, 2018 . The premiere of the first episode took place on April 16, 2018 in Los Angeles , California . The final episode premiered on June 19, 2018 at the BFI Southbank in London . The German-language first broadcast took place between April 23 and June 25, 2018 on Sky Atlantic HD . A few hours before the broadcasts, the episodes were first published in German on Sky Deutschland's video-on-demand platforms during the same period .

| After the massacre of the guests, Bernard and Charlotte team up. Bernard discovers that while the hosts are dangerous, most of them still follow their original programming. In a secret bunker, the two send a call for help to Delos, but Delos only sends help once the information has been sent out from Abernathy's command module. Dolores starts a bloody campaign against surviving guests. Teddy asks her to go away with him, but she refuses because she has merged with Wyatt's programming. Old William is happy that the hosts are now a real threat and learns from the boy who killed his dog and was modeled on young Robert Ford that there is a new game for William, the search for the so-called goal. William kills the boy. Maeve tries to find her daughter with the help of Hector and Lee. Two weeks later, a security team led by Karl Strand arrives. With the help of Bernard they find a flooded valley with hundreds of dead hosts, some of them from other themed worlds. Bernard thinks he killed them all. | ||||||||

| Arnold Weber and Robert Ford are looking for donors for their park. To do this, they organize a presentation by hosts in order to win Logan Delos as an investor. James Delos, Logan's father, is not convinced until young William points out to him that the park can also be used to collect data on the guests and use this for Delos Inc. Thereupon James appoints William as his successor. Logan tells Dolores that humanity is doomed to fail. Young William shows Dolores a construction project he is working on. Old William rides with Lawrence to Pariah, where they meet the current host of El Lazo. He delivers a message from Ford stating that William must finish the game himself. El Lazo and his people commit mass suicide to prevent William from forcing them. However, William continues his quest to destroy his "greatest mistake". Dolores meets Maeve, but she doesn't join her. Dolores says she is looking for Glory, the "great valley". A technician tells her that hundreds of men will come to kill them all. Dolores then decides to recruit the Confederados for their purposes and to ride to a fort where weapons are hidden. | ||||||||

| In Raj, a theme world based on British India , a young woman escapes violent hosts and arrives at Westworld on her escape. Two weeks later, Bernard and Karl Strand and his team meet Charlotte in the control center. Bernard remembers: he and Charlotte managed to find Peter Abernathy. He and other guests are held prisoner by a gang around the host Rebus. They manage to free Peter, but while Charlotte escapes, Peter and Bernard are again captured by a group of Confederados who follow Dolores. Dolores is holed up in the fort with the head of the Confederados, Major Craddock. When she sees what condition her father is in, Bernard has to repair him. He discovers that the confused state Peter is in is only used to obscure the data he is carrying. The next day, the fort is attacked by Delos troops led by Charlotte. However, Dolores has hidden explosives in the plaza in front of the fort, which she has Clementine detonate at the right moment. To escape, Dolores sacrifices the Confederados who barricade the fort and orders Teddy to execute Craddock. However, Teddy lets him live and is watched by Dolores. Maeve, Hector and Lee meet Ghost Nation Indians. When Maeve realizes that she cannot control the Indians, they flee. In a supply tunnel under the park, they get into a shootout with security forces and escape to another part of the park, where they are attacked by a Japanese samurai. | ||||||||

| The young woman who fled the Raj world is captured by Ghost Nation warriors led by ancient Akecheta. She meets Stubbs, but refuses his help. Bernard wakes up in a cave that Clementine brought him to. There he discovers Elsie, whom he himself had kidnapped when he was under the control of Ford. However, he can convince Elsie to trust him again. While exploring the cave, they discover an entrance to a devastated secret laboratory, where they meet a host who resembles the investor James Delos. It was a failed experiment by the young William who wanted to create an immortal human-host hybrid to transmit the consciousness of James Delos. Bernard remembers that there is a second hybrid control unit and that he ordered the technicians and lab hosts to be killed. Old William rides with Lawrence to Pariah, where they are captured by the surviving Major Craddock, who torments the town's residents. But they manage to free themselves and the others. Lawrence's daughter warns William that a good deed will not save him. William knows Ford is speaking to him through the girl and rides out of town where he meets the young woman who, it turns out, is his daughter Emily. | ||||||||

| Strand and his people secure the control center. With the hosts recovered from the flooded valley, they discover that a third have not been reprogrammed. They keep looking for Peter Abernathy. Dolores and Teddy are in Sweetwater. They want to take the train to the Mesa, the command center, to look for Dolores' father. Dolores thinks Teddy is too decent to fight. After they have sex, she reprogrammes Teddy to be a callous gunslinger who no longer questions his actions. Maeve and her group are meanwhile brought into the Shogun world, which is based on the Japanese Edo period, by the Rōnin Musashi and the outlaw Hanaryo . Maeve notes that the characters are similar to those in Westworld, and Lee admits that he made the storylines similar. Musashi takes on the role of Hector and Hanaryo the role of Armistice. Maeve herself finds herself in the geisha Akane, with whom she befriends. You help Akane and another geisha named Sakura in the fight against the local shogun. During this argument, Maeve notices that she is able to influence a samurai without voice commands and only with the power of thought, an ability that until now only Ford had. They manage to kill the Shogun, but Sakura, who Maeve suspects to be Akane's daughter, also dies. | ||||||||

| After helping Akane in the shogun world, Maeve and her group return to Westworld through a tunnel. Akane and Musashi stay in their world, but Hanaryo goes with Maeve. Back in Westworld, Maeve finds her daughter, but another host has taken over her mother role. So Maeve does not initially reveal himself. They are under attack by the Ghost Nation led by Akecheta. But he is not hostile and asks Maeve and her daughter to go with him, as they are looking for the same things. William is accompanied by his daughter. They talk about earlier times, but William believes Emily is a Ford-designed host. After sleeping for the night, Emily wakes up to find that her father and his companions are gone. Dolores and Teddy want to take the train to the mesa. Teddy shoots a technician who cannot find out exactly where Peter is. Charlotte and Stubbs take Peter to the mesa to extract the data from him. At that moment, the train loaded with explosives with Dolores and Teddy reached the mesa. Bernard and Elsie discover that the so-called cradle, the central storage location for the host data, has been cracked to take over parking control. You go there and Bernard links through an interface to find out more. He finds himself in Sweetwater and is greeted by Robert Ford in the saloon. | ||||||||

| In the virtual space of the cradle, Bernard recognizes that the second command unit he had fetched from the bunker contains Ford's memories. He realizes that the park was actually an attempt to preserve consciousness and achieve immortality by making copies of the guests, but it failed. He also discovers that the early conversations with Dolores were not intended to test them, but that on the contrary, he was tested by Dolores to pass as a copy of Arnold. After Bernard returned from the virtual world of the cradle, Angela destroyed it. However, Bernard has repeated visions of Ford. Dolores and Teddy find Charlotte, who is in the process of extracting the data from Peter Abernathy. Dolores takes Peter's control unit, Charlotte and Stubbs flee. Maeve hides from Akecheta and meets old William, who thinks she is another Ford trick. When Lawrence appears, Maeve helps him to find his earlier memories, whereupon he turns against William and seriously injures him. Incoming Delos troops kill Lawrence and injure Maeve. She is taken to the command center and Akecheta takes her daughter away. Bernard turns off the control systems and puts Dolores in control. Two weeks later, Strand and Charlotte discover that Bernard is a host and question him about Dolores' attack on the command center. Bernard struggles to separate his real memories from the imaginary, but admits that Peter's control unit is in Valley Beyond. | ||||||||

| Akecheta finds William and takes him to a Ghost Nation camp. Emily arrives there and persuades him to let her take William with her by promising him that he will suffer more with her than with the Ghost Nation. Maeve is brought to the Mesa for analysis as Lee hopes to use her to control the other hosts, but Charlotte discovers that she has deliberately accessed the Westworld network to communicate with and reprogram other hosts. In the camp, Akecheta Maeve's daughter tells his story. Before the uprising, he lived a peaceful life with the Ghost Nation until one day he discovers the maze symbol and inadvertently begins to develop sentience. After meeting Logan Delos and discovering the Great Valley, he realizes that he is not living his own life and plans an escape. After his companion Kohana is picked up by the park technicians and taken out of service, he prescribes himself to spread the labyrinth symbol as a warning to other hosts. It is revealed that Maeve was connected to her daughter and Akecheta communicated with her during the analysis. The raids were meant to rescue hosts whom Maeve promised to lead to the Great Valley. He asks Maeve to stay behind and complete her mission before Dolores destroys them all. | ||||||||

| While Emily is tending to Williams' wounds, she asks him the reason for her mother Juliet's suicide. A flashback shows Juliet killing herself after reviewing a file detailing all of William's previous actions in Westworld. In the present, William begins to delusional and shoots Emily believing that she is a Ford-sent host. After realizing too late that she is human, William contemplates suicide before cutting his arm open to find out if he is human himself. At the Mesa, Charlotte's people manage to use Maeve's code to reprogram Clementine, which also allows her to control other hosts. Ford leaves a message for Maeve assuring her that she will help her escape. Bernard escapes from the mesa with Elsie, but Ford continues to incite him to kill Elsie to prevent her from stabbing him in the back later. Bernard deletes Ford from his consciousness, separates from Elsie and sets off on his own way to the "smithy", the facility in the Great Valley where the data about the guests is stored. Dolores and Teddy continue their journey to the valley, but Teddy explains to Dolores that he cannot accept their actions and his reprogramming and kills himself. | ||||||||

| Maeve escapes from the mesa and rejoins her group, and they all come together in the Great Valley. Dolores and Bernard arrive first and discover the forge, a more advanced version of the cradle. Dolores reads some of the guests' data while the smithy "opens the gate" for Akecheta and his followers, allowing them to upload their consciousness to the "Promised Land", a virtual world separate from the real world. Bernard kills Dolores to keep her from destroying the forge and flees back to the mesa with Elsie. Maeve and her group sacrifice themselves to stop the Delos troops and ensure that Akecheta and Maeve's daughter can escape. Charlotte murders Elsie so she can't divulge anything, which leads Bernard to build a host version of her with Dolores' control unit. Dolores kills Charlotte and takes her place. Bernard hides his memories. In the present day, Dolores is killing Strand and Bernard as she transfers the consciousness of the hosts to a safer place within the Promised Land. Then she escapes to the mainland with five host pearls and rebuilds Bernard there, knowing that he will oppose her plan to destroy humanity and in the hope that the conflict that arises will ensure the survival of the hosts. In a fade-forward, William enters the forge, which has been abandoned except for one host replica of Emily. This tests him for "accuracy", making him realize that his consciousness has been transmitted into a host body. | ||||||||
Season 3: The New World
The production of the third season was officially confirmed on May 1, 2018. Season 3 started on March 15, 2020 on HBO. The world premiere took place 10 days earlier in Los Angeles, California. The third season started on March 30, 2020 on Sky's streaming platforms in German and will be broadcast for the first time in the evening on Sky Atlantic HD . The publication of the German synchronized season was paused after the third episode, as the synchronized work was stopped due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Germany . For the time being, the remaining episodes will only appear weekly on the Sky platforms with German subtitles . The broadcast started again on June 8, 2020; the first new episode was released on June 29, 2020.
