The Wigge , also called Wiggesiepen , in the North Rhine-Westphalian district of Olpe ( Germany ) is an approximately 3.6 km long, eastern and orographically left tributary of the Hundem in the Sauerland part of the Rothaargebirge .
geography
course
The Wigge has its source in the south-western center of the Rothaar Mountains in the Sauerland-Rothaar Mountains Nature Park . Its source is located around 2.5 km (as the crow flies ) east of the village of Oberhundem (to Kirchhundem ) on the southwest flank of the Wildhöfer ( 727.9 m ), a north-north-western knoll of the Hohen Hessel at about 645 m above sea level. NHN ; The Rhine-Weser watershed runs over the Wildhöfer . A little above the Wigge spring on the Rothaarsteig there is a viewing platform next to a fork in the road (673.2 m) in the Gewann Wildhöfe .
To the west of the main ridge of the Rothaargebirge, the Wigge flows mainly in a westerly direction through the wooded area of the Olpe protected landscape area ( CDDA no. 345041; 1988; 262.87 km²). She passes the Oberhundemer cliffs , which are designated as a natural monument . After that, when leaving the landscape protection area , the stream crosses under the state road 553, which leads from the hamlet of Rüspe (to Kirchhundem) past the Rhein-Weser tower and Panorama-Park Sauerland to Oberhundem, and from then on flows along the road through an unforested valley section.
Shortly thereafter, opens the Wigge, immediately after passing the southern village Oberhundem and second and letztmaligem passing under the L 553, to about 390 m height in the coming there from northeast Lenne influx Hundem . Beyond and northeast of the estuary is Adolfsburg Castle .
Catchment area and tributaries
The catchment area of the Wigge is 5.237 km². One of its tributaries is the 1.7 km long Lütke Rinsecke, which flows from the south on the left, directly south of Oberhundem.
