Wii Sports Resort is a sports game for the Wii that builds on the predecessor Wii Sports . It contains an expanded collection of twelve small sports games which, thanks to the support of Wii Motion Plus , translate the player's movements onto the console with even greater precision.

In Japan, 360,620 copies of the game were sold in the first week and 154,194 in the second week, putting it at the top of the Japanese game charts on both occasions. As of November 2009, a total of 6.97 million copies had been sold.
