Viktor Viktorovich Schaitar ( Russian Виктор Викторович Шайтар , English transcription Victor Shaitar ; born February 13, 1983 in Moscow ) is a Russian racing driver .

Career in motorsport

Viktor Schaitar began his career in the Russian monoposto sport . In 2002 he won the overall ranking of the Russian Formula 1600 Championship . Until 2007, when he was runner-up, he remained a participant in this championship. In 2008 he switched to Formula 3 and competed in the Russian and Finnish championships. Until 2012 he competed in monopostor races, including in Georgia .

The successful change in GT and sports car racing followed in 2013 . The overall victory in the GTC class of the European Le Mans Series in 2013 was followed by victory in the GTE class of this series in 2014 . He celebrated his greatest success so far in the FIA World Endurance Championship , where he won the final of the LMGTE standings in 2015 . He was also able to win these racing classes at the 2015 Le Mans 24-hour race . There he benefited from the late failure of Paul Dalla Lana, who had been leading for a long time, in the Aston Martin Vantage GTE .
