Wilfried Rogasch

Wilfried Rogasch (born April 11, 1962 in Hanover ) is a German historian , exhibition curator and author .

Life

Wilfried Rogasch studied history and art history in Göttingen , Munich and at the University of Oxford . His master's thesis with Rudolf von Thadden is entitled German Jews or Jewish Germans? The national self-image of the Jews in Germany 1914–1933 .

He curated numerous cultural and historical exhibitions throughout Germany, for example in Berlin in the German Historical Museum , in the Kronprinzenpalais , in the Henry Ford Building of the Free University of Berlin and in the Hotel Adlon as well as in the Munich House of Art , in the Saxon State Parliament in Dresden and in the Paulskirche in Frankfurt am Main. His main focus is on the cultural history of the aristocracy in Europe, the global history of forced migrations and the history of science .

Rogasch designed the permanent exhibition for new museums such as the Braunschweig Palace Museum (on behalf of the Richard Borek Foundation) and a Jewish Museum in Cologne (on behalf of the local friends' association, not realized).

In addition, Rogasch emerged as a specialist advisor for historical documentaries and feature films, e. B. for the movie " Majesty need sun " about Kaiser Wilhelm II.

He also made several of his own documentaries , including “People in New Berlin. Diplomacy ”( Deutsche Welle , 1999),“ New Splendor in Bohemia and Moravia ”(Two Parts, Bayerischer Rundfunk , 2001) and“ Liechtenstein's Princely Legacy ”(Bayerischer Rundfunk, 2002).
