Wilhelm Benedict von Schirach (born September 25, 1779 in Helmstedt , † April 15, 1866 in Glückstadt ) was a German lawyer and publicist who worked in the Danish service in the highest state functions.

Schirach is the son of Gottlob Benedikt von Schirach (1743-1804) (German historian, Danish legation councilor and publicist). Like his father, Wilhelm Benedict von Schirach entered service in Denmark (in the duchies of Schleswig and Holstein ). In 1807 he became senior judge for the Duchy of Holstein in Glückstadt , 1816 Danish State Councilor , 1831 Conference Councilor . With the establishment of the Schleswig-Holstein-Lauenburg Higher Appeal Court in Kiel in 1834 , he was appointed to the first council there. In 1841 he became director of the upper dicasteries of the Duchy of Holstein in Glückstadt. In 1864 he retired.

From 1804 onwards (together with a society of scholars ) after the death of his father he continued to publish the magazine Political Journal along with advertisements for scholarly and other matters , in the publication of which he was already involved.
