Wilhelm Christian Friedrich Bock

Wilhelm Christian Friedrich Bock (born December 26, 1815 in Stadtsulza ; † April 9, 1888 in Weimar ) was Lord Mayor of Weimar.

Life

The Chamber Secretary Bock took over the office of First Mayor of Weimar in 1851 and was appointed Lord Mayor that same year. During his tenure as Lord Mayor, the gas works was built in 1856 , which solved the problem of city lighting, as well as the city secondary school . In 1867 he moved to Apolda as district director and was also a member of the state parliament. Bock retired as a Privy Councilor. He spent the last years of his life in Weimar again.

His grave is in the main cemetery in Weimar.

Honor

Bockstrasse in Weimar has been named after him since 1890 .
