Peter Kleine

Peter Kleine (born September 26, 1972 in Sömmerda ) is a German lawyer and local politician . He has been Lord Mayor of Weimar since 2018 .

Life

Kleine passed the Abitur in 1991 in Sömmerda. From 1994 to 1999 he studied law at the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena . After completing his legal traineeship, he became a consultant in the Thuringian State Administration Office in Weimar in 2002 , in 2004 in the Thuringian Ministry of the Interior and in 2011 in the Thuringian Ministry of Finance . Since April 1, 2013 he has been mayor (deputy mayor) of the city of Weimar. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of the German National Foundation .

In the mayoral elections in April 2018 , Kleine ran as a non-party member with the support of the CDU and the weimarwerk bürgerbündnis , won with 60.3% against the previous incumbent Stefan Wolf and has been Lord Mayor of the city of Weimar since July 1, 2018.
