Peggy Greiser (born December 12, 1970 in Suhl ) is a German politician and district administrator in the Schmalkalden-Meiningen district in Thuringia .

Life

From 1984 to 1994 Greiser attended a children's and youth sports school and then a sports club in Saxony . During her competitive sports career in Saxony, Greiser lived for a year in Oberwiesenthal , then in Altenberg in the Ore Mountains. In 1989 she passed the Abitur and in 1994 she graduated as a sports scientist. In 1995 she returned to Southern Thuringia and has since worked at the Chamber of Crafts in Southern Thuringia, based in Suhl.

Political career

Since 2014 she has been part of the district council of the Schmalkalden-Meiningen district and has worked in the committees for education, culture and sport and the district and finance committee. In addition, from 2015-2018 she was the honorary alderman of the former District Administrator Peter Heimrich .

In the local elections in Thuringia in 2018, Greiser ran as district administrator in the Schmalkalden-Meiningen district for the SPD and Die Linke . With 52.8% of the valid votes cast, she was elected district administrator of the Schmalkalden-Meiningen district on April 15, 2018.

Private

Greiser is married, has a son and lives in Zella-Mehlis . As a volunteer, Greiser also works in three clubs, including the Sports and Disabled Association of the Schmalkalden-Meiningen district. She is a member of various committees at the district, state and federal level, mainly in the areas of general and vocational training as well as professional development.
