Wilhelm Lobsien

Wilhelm Lobsien (born September 30, 1872 in Foldingbro , Amt Ripen , Denmark ; † July 26, 1947 in Niebüll , North Frisia ) was a German writer .

Wilhelm Lobsien was the son of a customs officer . He grew up in Tønder and attended elementary school there . He then completed the teachers' seminar there from 1890 to 1893 . He worked as a primary school teacher in Hoyer and from 1896 in Kiel , most recently as vice-principal . Lobsien was buried on the Hallig Oland .

Lobsien was active as a writer in addition to his teaching profession . At first he published poems , later mainly narrative works, which are mostly located in North Friesland , so that he was nicknamed "Hallig poet". Lobsien's stories were marked early on by the author's strong patriotism and national sentiments. During the Third Reich he was a member of the National Socialist " Eutin Poet Circle "; In 1948 the authorities in the Soviet zone put his work Jürgen Wullenweber , published in 1929, on the " List of literature to be sorted out ". - Wilhelm Lobsien's estate is in the Schleswig-Holstein State Library in Kiel .
