Wilhelm Rodewald (journalist)

Wilhelm Rodewald (* 27. November 1866 in Hannover ; † 27. April 1926 ) was a German printer and journalist and writer , particularly in Calenberger Platt , a dialect colored vernacular Low German, " Low German language ". Rodewald was considered a "great singer leader ".

Life

Wilhelm Rodewald attended the Higher Citizens' School (today: Tellkampfschule ) in Hanover and then joined his father's printing press. In 1899 he became a journalist. From 1911 he began to work as a writer and was elected chairman of the Association of Lower Saxony men's choirs based in Hanover.

During the Weimar Republic , Wilhelm Rodewald was involved in the publications on the 9th German Singers' Association in Hanover from 23 to 27 August 1924, to which the German Singers Association had called. Rodewald participated in music-based broadcasts of the Nordische Rundfunk AG , which were broadcast from the Hanover studio and could only be received via the Hanover transmitter :

Rodewald did not reach the age of 60. The Association of Lower Saxony Men's Choirs dedicated an elaborate tombstone to him at the Engesohde city cemetery . It also contains inscriptions for Elsa Meier , née Rodewald (May 24, 1898 - August 17, 1977) and Hans W. Meier (October 13, 1898 - October 28, 1977).
