Wilhelm von Altrock (born August 14, 1887 in Gröba , † February 26, 1952 in Diedersen ) was a German lieutenant general .

He was the son of the later Saxon Lieutenant General Hugo Alexander von Altrock (1851-1927) from the Altrock family . Altrock joined the 2nd Jäger Battalion No. 13 of the Saxon Army on March 22, 1907 , coming from the Cadet Corps as a characterized ensign . With this battalion he went into the First World War and was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Military St. Henry for his services as first lieutenant and leader of the 3rd company of the cycling battalion No. 4 during the fighting before the Siegfriedstellung on June 2, 1917 Order . Altrock had also been awarded both classes of the Iron Cross , the Knight's Cross 2nd Class of the Order of Merit and the Order of Albrecht with Swords, the Bavarian Military Merit Order IV Class with Swords and the Reussian Cross of Honor and the War Merit Cross.

After the war ended in the Reichswehr adopted Altrock rose later in the army of the Wehrmacht during World War II on 1 April 1943, Lieutenant General on. I.a. he served as commander of the Rear Army Area 559 on the Eastern Front . With the unconditional surrender of the Wehrmacht , Altrock fell into Allied captivity on May 8, 1945 , from which he was released in 1947.
