Wilhelm Anton Adrian Konstantin Freiherr von Knobelsdorff (born September 30, 1802 in Bujukdere near Constantinople , † November 25, 1880 in Hanover ) was a Prussian major general and personal adjutant of Prince Friedrich of Prussia .

Life

origin

Wilhelm came from the first noble family von Knobelsdorff . His parents were Lieutenant General Wilhelm von Knobelsdorff (1752-1820) and his wife Philippine, née Freiin van Dedern to de Geldern (1772-1860).

Military career

Knobelsdorff joined the 8th Hussar Regiment of the Prussian Army as a hussar on May 1, 1821 . From 1821 to 1824 he was assigned to the division school and was promoted to secondary lieutenant in mid-April 1825 . In 1831 he received the Small Cross of the Teutonic Order and later rose to become Commander of the Ballei Utrecht . From 1834 to 1835 he was posted to the teaching squadron. On November 6, 1841, he was appointed adjutant of the 14th Cavalry Brigade . There he was promoted to Premier Lieutenant on July 21, 1842 . On February 13, 1844, he came as a personal assistant to the Prince Frederick of Prussia, in addition he was the 8th Hussars aggregated . On March 22, 1845 he was Rittmeister and awarded the Guelph Order in the same year . On November 29, 1845, he was aggregated to the Leib-Garde-Hussar Regiment while leaving his position . Awarded the service cross on June 18, 1846 , he was placed à la suite of the regiment on November 6, 1850 . On September 30, 1851, he was a Major put in the adjutant's office, where on 15 October 1856 Lieutenant Colonel and on May 31, 1859 Colonel promoted. He received the character of Major General on March 17, 1863 and was placed at the disposal of Princes Alexander and George of Prussia on July 27, 1863 . For his services which he had rendered to Prince Friedrich, he was awarded the Crown Order II on August 11, 1863 . On October 15, 1866 he was with pension for disposition made, and died on 25 November 1880 in Hanover.
