The building was built in 1862/63 to designs by Louis de Millas for the legal consultant Franz Kübel and his wife Sophie.

The two-storey building in exposed masonry, resting on a high basement, is emphasized horizontally; the upper floor is emphasized by a bel étage - with representational building plastic. A mezzanine rests on the upper floor . The four window axes are structured symmetrically. The corners of the house are framed by pilaster strips with corner blocks.

The garden veranda was built in 1903 by Ernst Walter and Karl Luckscheiter , who also designed the building on Barbarino-Eck .

In 1950 the building belonged to the widow Helene Mayer. The practice of dentist Dr. Ernst Weinland. In 1961 the building belonged to Walter Mayer, which was located in Gutenbergstr. 17 lived. In addition to the Weinland dentist, Anny Schnepf's tailoring salon was now also on the ground floor.
