Willi Marx (born June 3, 1947 in Holzburg ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and former district administrator of the district of Gießen .

Life and work

After attending the elementary school in Holzburg and the higher commercial school in Alsfeld , he completed an apprenticeship in the Hessian tax administration at the tax offices of Alsfeld and Gießen as well as at the city administration of Sprendlingen and the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences. He then studied at the Hessian Finance School in Rotenburg an der Fulda .

After completing his studies, he was a clerk in the Langen tax office and head of the district of Sprendlingen and Dreieich , all in the Offenbach district. After a position as mayor in Heuchelheim , he became district administrator of the district of Giessen in 1997.

Political party

Marx joined the SPD in 1966. From 1977 to 1985 he was a member of the SPD city association board in the city of Dreieich .

MP

From 1981 to 1985 Marx was a member of the Association Day of the Frankfurt Umlandverband (UVF). In 1985 he was a member of the Offenbach district council for a short time , and in 1997 he was SPD parliamentary group chairman in the Gießen district council for a few months .

Public offices

Marx was mayor of the Heuchelheim community from 1985 to 1997 . From 1997 he was district administrator of the district of Gießen. He was last re-elected as district administrator by the citizens in July 2003 with 60.0% of the votes in the first ballot. In the 2009 district election, Marx did not run for reasons of age and health. His term ended in January 2010.

In addition to his role as district administrator, he also held various committee functions.
