Rudiger Veit
Rüdiger Veit (born May 3, 1949 in Berlin ) is a German lawyer and politician ( SPD ).
Life and work
After graduating from high school in 1967, Veit studied law at the University of Heidelberg and at the Justus Liebig University in Gießen , which he completed in 1972 with the first state examination in law. After completing his legal clerkship , he passed the second state examination in 1975 and then worked as a lawyer until 1985 .
Veit is married and has a daughter.
Political party
Veit joined the SPD in 1969. Since 1970 he has belonged to the SPD sub-district executive committee in Gießen and has been chairman of the SPD regional executive committee in Central Hesse since 2004 . From 1988 to 2004 he was chairman of the sub-district of Gießen, from 1993 to 1995 a member of the state board of the Hessian SPD and from 1990 to 2007 was a member of the SPD district board of Hesse- South.
MP
From 1979 to 1985 Veit belonged to the district council of the district of Gießen .
From 1998 he was a member of the German Bundestag . From October 1998 to October 2003 he was deputy spokesman for the internal affairs group of the SPD parliamentary group . From January 2003 Veit was spokesman for the parliamentary group's migration and integration working group and from November 2005 he was again deputy spokesman for domestic politics.
In 1998, 2002 and 2005 he moved into the Bundestag as a directly elected member of the Gießen constituency . In the 2005 Bundestag election , he received 43.3% of the first votes . 2009 was Helge Braun (CDU) directly elected representative in casting . Veit moved into the Bundestag via the state list. He was a member of the Interior Committee in all election terms .
For personal reasons, the then 68-year-old did not run for the 2017 federal election again.

Veit from 1985 to 1986 First District Deputy and 1986-1998 District Administrator of the district casting.
