Willi Wiebershausen

Willi Wiebershausen (born December 9, 1917 in Cologne-Ehrenfeld ; † July 8, 1958 near Gernrode in the Harz Mountains) was a German politician ( SED ). He was the first secretary of the SED district leadership in Neubrandenburg .

Life

Wiebershausen, son of a locksmith, attended elementary school and learned to be a coachbuilder. Then Wiebershausen worked in the profession. In 1930 he became a member of the Red Pioneers and the Jungspartakusbund. In 1932 he joined the Communist Youth Association of Germany . In June 1939 he was drafted into the Wehrmacht and had to do military service since the beginning of the Second World War . As a corporal, he deserted in Denmark in April 1945 and was taken prisoner by the British until June 1945 .

After the war ended, Wiebershausen returned to Cologne and joined the Communist Party of Germany there . In July 1946 he moved to Western Pomerania . In February 1947 he joined the Socialist Unity Party of Germany (SED). He became chairman of the SED local group Bartow ( Demmin district ), later working area secretary in Altentreptow . In 1949 he studied for half a year at the SED state party school in Wiligrad and then became a member of the SED state leadership in Mecklenburg . From 1949 to 1952 he was first secretary of the SED district leadership in Anklam and Wismar .

From June to September 1952 he was secretary of the SED state leadership in Mecklenburg and from September 1952 to August 1953 first secretary of the SED district leadership in Neubrandenburg. At the same time he was a member of the Neubrandenburg district assembly. Following a decision by the Politburo, he was replaced as First Secretary and deployed outside the Neubrandenburg district. His removal from the party apparatus was justified by his conciliatory behavior in June 1953. In addition, he was morally wrong and had family policy.

Wiebershausen then worked from October 1953 until his death in 1958 as the second chairman and secretary for information, press and training of the Halle district committee of the National Front. He died by suicide.
