William H. Roddle

William H. Roddle (born December 28, 1858 in Kenosha County , Wisconsin , † after 1901) was an American trader, businessman, lawyer and politician ( Republican Party ).

Career

William H. Roddle's youth were overshadowed by the Civil War .

Eventually he moved into the Dakota Territory and settled in Brookings ( Brookings County down). There he owned a hardware store.

He was Mayor of Brookings from 1889 to 1890. Roddle was elected County Treasurer of Brooking County. After the end of his tenure, he was elected Secretary of State of South Dakota - a position he held from 1897 to 1901.

Roddle was a member of the State Historical Society of South Dakota.
