This system combines, for the first time in history, the security features of the Common Access Cards (CAC) issued by the United States Department of Defense to its personnel with a state voting system. iOASIS verifies and authenticates overseas voters. Voters can register, request and receive a ballot paper for a postal vote , then fill out the ballot paper and then submit it securely and reliably. This streamlined a 60 day process, the transaction now takes less than 5 minutes. After a voter fills in their ballot, the ballot is then printed out and returned for counting, but could also be easily and securely returned electronically to further streamline the process. Gant endorses and supports a nationwide deployment of iOASIS in the United States.

He is a member of the Minnesota County Republican Party, the South Dakota Republican Party, and the Knights of Columbus .

He has three children with his wife Chris: Abbi, Sophie and Mallory.
