William Patrick Callahan OFMConv (born June 17, 1950 in Chicago ) is Bishop of La Crosse .

Life

William Patrick Callahan joined the Order of the Minorites , professed on August 11, 1970, and ordained a priest on April 30, 1977 by the Archbishop of Milwaukee , William Edward Cousins . Pope Benedict XVI appointed him on October 30, 2007 auxiliary bishop in Milwaukee and titular bishop of Lares .

Archbishop of Milwaukee and Apostolic Administrator of Green Bay , Timothy Michael Dolan , ordained him episcopally on December 21 of that year ; Co- consecrators were Richard John Sklba , Auxiliary Bishop of Milwaukee, and John Joseph Myers , Archbishop of Newark and Apostolic Superior of the Turks and Caicos Islands .

He was appointed Bishop of La Crosse on June 11, 2010, and initiated into office on August 11 of the same year.
