Timothy Michael Cardinal Dolan (born February 6, 1950 in St. Louis , Missouri , USA ) is Archbishop of New York .

Life

Timothy Dolan was born the eldest of five children to a middle class family and, like most of the Archbishops of New York, is of Irish descent . From 1964 to 1968 he attended the St. Louis Preparatory Seminary South in Shrewsbury before he followed in the same city at the seminary Cardinal Glennon College Catholic theology and philosophy studied. From 1972 he continued his studies in Rome , where he became an alumnus of the Pontifical North America College and obtained a licentiate in theology from the Pontifical University of Saint Thomas Aquinas .
