William Watson (actor)

William C. Watson (born October 5, 1938 - November 5, 1997 in Kauai , Hawaii ) was an American actor .

Life

Watson began his career in 1966 with the B-movie Girl on a Chain Gang . The following year he played a supporting role in the five Academy Award-winning drama In The Heat Of The Night . In the early 1970s he appeared in a number of westerns , including Lawman and Chatos Land . As a result, however, he received less and less feature film engagements. He was more successful at television; he appeared in guest roles in numerous successful television series of the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. Among other things, he was in High Chaparral , Bonanza , The Rockford Files - just call , CHiPs , Dallas and Magnum to see.

He starred in the pilot of the television series Kojak - Operation in Manhattan , several episodes of The Streets of San Francisco , Smoking Guns and Hawaii Five-Zero, and in the miniseries Roots . His last appearance was on the side of Michael Moriarty and Karen Black in Larry Cohen's horror film The Cradle of Secrets .
