Willy Glogner
Willy Glogner (born July 19, 1869 in Lübeck ; † October 19, 1968 there ; full name: Wilhelm Heinrich Friedrich Glogner ) was a German architect .
Life
Glogner studied architecture at the building trade school in Eckernförde and then at the Technical University of Charlottenburg . From 1898 to 1903 he was an employee of the Prussian Ministry of Public Works in Berlin . From 1903 to 1955 he worked as a freelance architect in his hometown of Lübeck and at times ran a joint architecture office with Paul Vermehren . In the Association of German Architects , he was a member since 1903 and since 1949 honorary member.
buildings
Numerous public buildings and residential buildings in Lübeck, stylistically often influenced by Historicism and Art Nouveau , and later also by Brick Expressionism , come from Glogner. Among them are:
- the reception building of the new Lübeck main station , built between 1904 and 1908 in collaboration with Fritz Klingholz
- the neo-Gothic Marienwerkhaus at the Marienkirche , 1903/04
- the Schifferhof in the Engelsgrube , was built in 1908 in collaboration with Paul Vermehren
- the new de Herthoge monastery in Lübeck-Vorwerk, Am Behnckenhof, was built in 1908 in collaboration with Paul Vermehren
- the seaman's home , An der Untertrave 1, (replaced by a new building in 1960), was built in 1913 in the style of homeland security in collaboration with Paul Vermehren
- the Travemünder Kursaal (today Casino Travemünde ), created in 1913/14 in collaboration with Paul Vermehren
- the new administration building, Schwartauer Allee
- the gate of hope , 1936/37
- the Luther Church , 1937 in collaboration with Paul Vermehren
