Winfried Gebhardt

Winfried Gebhardt (born August 6, 1954 in Buttenheim , Bavaria ) is a German sociologist , cultural sociologist and university professor .

Life

Winfried Gebhardt studied sociology , political science and economics at the University of Tübingen , undertook post-graduate studies in sociology, philosophy and history at the University College Cork, Republic of Ireland , and received his doctorate in sociology from the University of Tübingen in 1985. From 1985 to 1993 Winfried Gebhardt was an academic advisor at the chair for general sociology at the University of Bayreuth , completed his habilitation in "general sociology" in Bayreuth in 1993 and was then a private lecturer . Before he was appointed to the Chair of Sociology at the University of Koblenz-Landau , Campus Koblenz , Gebhardt was visiting professor at the Institute for Administrative Sciences at the University of Kosice, Slovak Republic . Outside the university, Gebhardt is active as a lecturer at the Institute for International Communication and Foreign Cultural Work in Bayreuth (IIK) and in teacher training.

Gebhardt is a reviewer for graduate grants, for study commissions of the German Bundestag and for the Federal Agency for Nature Conservation . He is a member of the German Society for Sociology (DGS), the Sociological Theory Section and on the board of the Sections for Religious Sociology and Cultural Sociology , and the Görres Society (Sociology Section).

Scientific focus

Important research work by Gebhardt was presented on the "Unity of Sociology Georg Simmel ". The principle of the “tragedy of culture”, about “festivals, celebrations and everyday life.
