Winterstetten is a sub-municipality of the large district town of Leutkirch in the Allgäu in the Ravensburg district .
history
The place is in the south of the city of Leutkirch, in the valley of the Eschach at the foot of the Adelegg . The first documentary mention should be from the year 834. The parish of Hinznang with its St. Gertrud church, located in today's district of Winterstetten, has an entry in the Liber decimationis , the book of ten of the diocese of Constance from 1275. The parish is divided into three further spatially separate suburbs, Emerlanden, Hinznang and Schmidsfelden . Winterstetten was essentially part of the Trauchburg rule. In 1806 the area came to the Kingdom of Württemberg , in 1820 the actual community formation took place in the Oberamt Wangen , then part of the Oberamt Leutkirch and later in 1938 to the district of Wangen . On June 1, 1972, Winterstetten was incorporated into the city of Leutkirch.
In 2011, the church was part of the Allgäu-Oberschwaben deanery in the Rottenburg-Stuttgart diocese .
