Vitaly Yakovlevich Subov

Vitaly Jakowlewitsch Subow ( Russian Виталий Яковлевич Зубов ; * December 16 July / December 29,  1902 greg. In Slatoust ; † August 29, 1975 in Sverdlovsk ) was a Russian metalworker and university professor .

Life

Subov attended the railway school No. 90 in the Slatoust station and then worked in the Slatouster mechanical plant. He completed his studies with Sergei Samoilowitsch Steinberg at the Metallurgical Faculty of the Ural Industrial Institute in Sverdlovsk in 1938. He stayed there and became an assistant and then a lecturer . In 1957 he defended his doctoral thesis on the structural basis of the plasticity and elasticity of a steel strip spring . The appointment as professor followed. From 1959 he headed the new chair for metal science (until 1972). The focus of his scientific work was on the processes for manufacturing high-strength, patented cold-drawn wire, as well as the heat treatment and properties of spring steels and alloys . He was the author of more than 250 specialist articles and 4 monographs .
