Wolf-Dieter Hugelmann

Wolf-Dieter Hugelmann (* 1944 in Klosterneuburg ; † November 5, 2002 in Vienna ) was an Austrian journalist , cultural critic and PR consultant .

Life

In addition to studying German and English, he started as an editor and cultural critic for the daily newspaper Kurier , later he worked for the Express and for the Kronen Zeitung .

In 1970 he was brought to the ORF , the state radio and television company, by General Director Gerd Bacher and entrusted with the management of the cultural department. He achieved that after the time in the picture , the main daily news broadcast on television, cultural news was broadcast; that was unique in Europe at the time. Due to his leftist views, however, a falling out soon broke out.

In 1973 Hugelmann was honored with the promotion award of the Dr.-Karl-Renner-Publizistikpreis .

In 1973, Hugelmann was a member of the eight-person jury that was appointed by Minister of Education Fred Sinowatz to award funding for the small-stage concept.

In 1973, Hugelmann started his own business as a PR consultant and founded the agency Communica GmbH, one of the first agencies for corporate communication in Austria. In 1975 he co-founded the Public Relations Club Austria, which was renamed the Public Relations Association Austria in 1980 and still exists today. From 1979 to 1982 he was a member of the board of the PRVA, 1979/1980 under PRVA President Hansjörg Wachta , 1981/1982 under Franz M. Bogner .

Together with Coop Himmelb (l) au , he organized the super summer in Vienna in 1976 , was a film producer, artist agent , organizer and traded in film rights. Hugelmann designed games for well-known publishers and edited the satirical magazine Online-Fackel . For the then Vienna Tourist Association , he was in charge of the PR campaign I am a friendly Viennese / Come and see friendly Vienna, which was started in 1979 and operated until the 1990s .
