Wolfgang Berger (born November 4, 1941 in Kassel ) is a German economist .

Act

After an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk, Berger studied philosophy and economics in France and the USA. He received his doctorate from the Free University and the Technical University of Berlin. phil. and Dr. rer. pole. In the 1960s he conducted research at the Max Planck Institute for Human Development in Berlin .

Berger heads the Business Reframing Institute founded in 1997. From 1988 to 1997 he taught business administration at Pforzheim University , including one year at California State University, East Bay in Hayward . He worked for a total of 20 years in management positions in companies.

In 2009 he ran in cooperation with the Willi-Weise project in the federal electoral district of Southern Palatinate as a direct candidate for the federal election . He received 728 first votes (0.5%) and thus achieved the last place among the direct candidates.

Positions

According to Berger, the 21st century requires an internal realignment of companies . The transfer of a successful strategy to entire industries or economic areas leads to uniformity and prevents entrepreneurial success through strategic differentiation. The point is not to judge a strategy per se as “right” or “wrong”: A new strategy should be considered right as long as it is not refuted.

In addition, Berger advocates the introduction of “flowing money” ( circulating money ) in lectures and a book . He propagates this as a solution to the errors in the current worldwide established financial system shaped by Milton Friedman . In this way, an exit from the national debt , which is necessary to maintain the current system, should succeed and the huge “redistribution from hardworking to rich” should be alleviated.

In an article for the Wissensmanufaktur, Wolfgang Berger described the City of London as an “extra-territorial area”.

criticism

Berger works with people like Karl Albrecht Schachtschneider on the scientific advisory board of the Wissensmanufaktur . Their main operators Andreas Popp, Rico Albrecht and, until 2017, Michael Vogt are assigned to the New Right and the Querfront .
