Wolfgang Gröbl (born March 12, 1941 in Erfurt ) is a former German politician ( CSU ).

From 1987 to 1991 he was Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Minister for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety , from 1991 to 1993 at the Federal Minister for Transport and from 1993 to 1998 at the Federal Minister for Food, Agriculture and Forests .

education and profession

After graduating from the Benedictine high school in Ettal , Gröbl did his military service with the mountain hunters and then completed a degree in forest science at the University of Munich , which he completed with a degree in forestry.

In 1969 Gröbl became the personal assistant to the then General Secretary of the CSU, Max Streibl . From 1971 to 1972 he worked as a consultant in the newly founded Bavarian State Ministry for Regional Development and Environmental Issues.

He has been a member of the CSU since 1969 .

MP

Gröbl was a member of the German Bundestag from 1987 to 1998 . He always moved into the Bundestag as a directly elected member of the Starnberg constituency .

Public offices

Wolfgang Gröbl was 1972-1987 District Administrator of the rural district Miesbach .

After the general election in 1987 Gröbl was on 12 March 1987 as Parliamentary Secretary to the Federal Minister for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety of the Federal Chancellor Helmut Kohl led government appointed. After the federal election in 1990 , he changed to the Federal Minister of Transport on January 25, 1991 in the same function. On the occasion of a cabinet reshuffle, he was appointed Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister of Food, Agriculture and Forestry on January 22, 1993. On January 15, 1998, he left the government.
