Wolfgang Ranft
Wolfgang Ranft (born March 15, 1911 in Zwickau ; † October 16, 2006 in Auerbach / Vogtl. ) Was a German doctor and politician ( CDU of the GDR ).
Life
Ranft, the son of a civil servant, attended elementary and secondary school in Schwarzenberg and the upper secondary school in Auerbach. After graduating from high school, he studied medicine at the universities of Munich , Freiburg , Rostock and Berlin from 1931 to 1937 . In 1937 he passed the state examination and then worked as an assistant doctor at the Charité until 1939 . He received his doctorate in 1939 in Berlin to Dr. med. ( Dissertation : Antefixation births after previous retrodeviation operations on the uterus ). Then Ranft was called up as a military doctor for military service and was taken prisoner of war .
In 1946 he returned to Germany and became a member of the CDU and the FDGB . Ranft completed a specialist training at the Surgical Clinic Auerbach by 1950. In 1950 he joined the Society for German-Soviet Friendship (DSF). From 1950 to 1976 he was the medical director of the miners' hospital in Obergöltzsch . From the age of 65 he worked as a specialist in surgery in the outpatient clinic in Auerbach.
1956 Ranft became a member of the CDU main board of the CDU as well as the CDU district board of Karl-Marx-Stadt . From 1958 to 1963 he was a member of the People's Chamber . On March 17, 1987 he was appointed honorary member of the main board and member of the honorary council of the main board of the CDU.
Ranft worked as a general practitioner in Auerbach until 1998.
