Wolfram Sterry

Wolfram Sterry (born March 5, 1949 in Marbach am Neckar ) is a German dermatologist and university professor .

Life

Sterry attended schools in Waiblingen and Neuwied . After graduating from the Werner-Heisenberg-Gymnasium Neuwied in 1968 and completing basic military service in the armed forces, he studied English at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn up to an intermediate diploma . From 1972 he studied medicine at the University of Cologne . 1978 doctorate he summa cum laude for Dr. med.

He completed his specialist training in dermatology and venereology at the Cologne University Hospital with Gerd Klaus Steigleder . In 1982 he completed his habilitation on malignant skin lymphoma . From 1984 to 1991 he was the senior physician in charge at the Dermatology Clinic of the Christian Albrechts University in Kiel under Enno Christophers . There he worked for Karl Lennert in the special research area 111 of the German Research Foundation . In 1991 he was appointed director of the skin clinic at Ulm University. The Charité appointed him in 1994 as chair holder and director of the clinic for dermatology, venereology and allergology. For health reasons, he handed over the management of the clinic to Torsten Zuberbier in 2012 .

He is married to the dermatologist Gerda Sterry.
