The Yamanashi-ken Kose Sports Kōen rikujōkyōgijō ( Jap. 山梨県小瀬スポーツ公園陸上競技場, "athletics stadium in Kose Sports Park Yamanashi prefecture"), after naming rights sales currently Yamanashi Chūgin stage ( 山梨中銀スタジアム), English. Yamanashi Chūō Bank Stadium , is a football stadium in the Kose Sports Park in the Japanese city of Kofu , Yamanashi Prefecture . It is the main venue of the Ventforet Kofu football club ( J1 League ).
history
The stadium was opened in 1986 and, like the other facilities in the Kose Sports Park, was built on the occasion of the 41st kokumin taiiku taikai ("Volkssportfest"; English National Sports Festival ) held in Yamanashi Prefecture . Originally the facility had only one grandstand, the other sides consisted of grass-covered walls on which the spectators could sit.
A first expansion was carried out in 1997 in preparation for the inclusion of the Ventforet Kofu football club in the J. League . Among other things, the grass hill on the back straight was removed and replaced by a grandstand, and a floodlight system and a display board were installed. With the arrival of J. League Division 1 , the hills in the two corners were also replaced by fixed grandstands, and the two straights were given second place.
The venue with 17,000 seats is currently mainly used for football games, and rugby games from the Japanese top league are occasionally held. In 2011, the acquired bank Yamanashi Chuo Ginko (Engl. The Yamanashi Chuo Bank ), the naming rights for five years.
