Mletshi Yannick Anzuluni (born August 21, 1987 ) is a Canadian / Congolese basketball player .

Player career

Anzuluni was born in what was then Zaire , moved with his family to Belgium as a toddler , where they stayed for ten years and then moved to Chicoutimi in Canada . He then attended the French-speaking École secondaire catholique Garneau in Ottawa and played for their basketball team.

From 2006 to 2010 he played at Houghton College in the United States and posted good statistics for the college team in the second NAIA division. In a total of 79 missions for the team from the University of New York , he averaged 15.4 points, 9.3 rebounds, 2.1 basket assists, 1.8 ball wins and 1.4 blocked throws. Anzuluni gained his first experience as a professional basketball player with the Kebs de Québec in Canada.

In the 2012/13 season he played in 21 regional league games for the BBC Magdeburg on the field and achieved averages of 17.5 points and eleven rebounds per encounter. The basketball news service eurobasket.com then accepted him into the team of the year for the 2012/13 season in the 1st Regionalliga Nord and named him the best defender of the season.

It followed a year in the second team of Tampereen Pyrintö in the second highest division in Finland. Anzuluni was named Player of the 2013/14 season by eurobasket.com in the league. He went back to Germany and strengthened the Rostock Seawolves in the 2nd Bundesliga ProB in the 2014/15 season . With 21 points per game, he was the top scorer of the new league player at the time and also recorded 8.1 points and 3.2 ball wins per use.

For the 2015/16 season he moved to Sweden and ran for the first division club Umeå BSKT. In the summer of 2016, Anzuluni was announced as a new addition by Bundesliga club Phoenix Hagen . He was unable to convince in two Bundesliga appearances, and at the beginning of October 2016 they split up.

From 2016 to 2018, the versatile winger was under contract with the Swedish first division club BC Luleå and played in 83 league games during this time. Anzuluni scored an average of 15.2 points, 7.4 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.7 ball wins per game.

In August 2018 he was presented as a new commitment in Rostock, thus returning to the Hanseatic League, who had achieved promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga ProA a few months earlier . After the end of the 2018/19 season, in which he was the second best goal scorer in Rostock with 14.1 points per game and reached the team maximum with 5.9 rebounds per match, he moved to Djurgården Basket in Sweden.

Personal

His father Bembe Anzuluni was the chairman of the Zaire legislative council under Mobuto for eight years.
