Yannick Harms (born January 14, 1994 in Kandel ) is a German volleyball and beach volleyball player .

Career hall

Harms began his career at TSG Backnang . He then played at SV Fellbach . In 2010, the outside attacker switched to the Volley YoungStars, the youth team of VfB Friedrichshafen . A year later he took part with the German juniors in the U21 World Cup in Rio de Janeiro , in which the DVV selection took tenth place. In 2012, Harms, who became German champions in the U16, U18 and U20 age groups, moved up to the top division of VfB Friedrichshafen. In 2014 he moved to the league competitor Chemie Volley Mitteldeutschland . In 2015 he returned to the second division club SV Fellbach, where he was active until 2018.

Career Beach

Harms has played beach volleyball with various partners at numerous youth championships since 2008. Harms has been playing alongside Philipp Arne Bergmann since 2015 and won the national Smart Beach Tour for the first time in Binz . Bergmann / Harms finished ninth in the German championship . In 2016 Harms and Tim Holler won the Smart Super Cup in Münster . At the side of Armin Dollinger , Harms achieved seventh place in the German championship . In 2017, Bergmann / Harms won the Beach Cup in Nuremberg and the Super Cups in Kühlungsborn and Binz. Because of Lars Flüggen's injury, Markus Böckermann chose Harms as a substitute partner for the 2017 European Championships in Jūrmala . At the German championship , Bergmann / Harms reached third place and then climbed to first place in the German rankings. In November Bergmann / Harms received the status of the "German national team" from the DVV . In March 2018 they won the 1-star tournament of the FIVB World Tour in Muscat . Several top ten placements on the FIVB World Tour and three victories on the national Techniker Beach Tour followed . Bergmann / Harms also took part in the European Championship in the Netherlands in 2018 and became German runner-up in Timmendorfer Strand .

Private

Yannick Harms' younger brother Manuel also plays volleyball and beach volleyball successfully.
