Yonatan Irrazábal , full name Yonatan Irrazábal Condines , partly also as Jonathan Irrazábal , (born February 12, 1988 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan football player .

Career

The 1.80 meter tall goalkeeper began his career in the Apertura 2008 at his youth club Defensor Sporting when, according to the sources, he was part of the first team playing in the Primera División for the first time. In his first year in the squad Defensor was master of the Torneo Clausura 2009. After he initially worked as a substitute goalkeeper behind Martín Silva and was involved in winning the Torneo Apertura 2010, as well as the 2nd overall table position of the 2010/11 season, was he subsequently became the main force in the gate of the violets . In the 2011/2012 season he played 31 first division games and took third place in the overall table with Defensor. His team qualified for the championship final by winning the 2012 Torneo Clausura. There they lost to Nacional 1-0. He also played all six games with Defensors in the 2012 Copa Libertadores . However, he was eliminated with his team in the preliminary round. In the 2012/13 season he again contributed to second place in the 2012 Torneo Apertura as a regular goalkeeper in all 15 league games. He also played four games in the 2013 Clausura, finally losing the duel for the goalkeeping post against Martín Campaña . Irrazábal he was placed in both games of the Copa Libertadores 2013 with Defensors participation. In the Apertura 2013 he did not get beyond the role of the substitute goalkeeper. By the end of the 2013/14 season, he was then placed four times in the Primera División. In the 2014/15 season he was used once in the top Uruguayan league. During the 2015/16 season, he made 16 premier league appearances. At the beginning of September 2016, he joined Club Atlético Cerro and played five top division games in the 2016 season.

National team

In 2004 he was a member of the Uruguayan squad put together by Gustavo Ferrín at the U-16 South American Championship and was used at least in the 3-2 defeat by Paraguay. In October 2004 at the latest, he was appointed to the U-17 and was also a member of the squad at the U-17 South American Championship 2005 in Venezuela , with which he was vice-South American champion. In 2005, as a member of the Uruguayan squad, he completed two of the three tournament games for the U-17s at the U-17 World Cup in Peru against the teams from Turkey and Mexico. At least in 2006 and 2007 Irrazábal was also a member of the Uruguayan U-20 national team, which was then coached by Gustavo Ferrín . With this he first took part in the U-20 South American Football Championship in Paraguay in 2007 and then in the U-20 World Cup in 2007 , in which Uruguay fought its way into the round of 16 as one of the four best group thirds, but there failed in the US selection by a 1: 2 defeat.
