Zaatzke is a district of Heiligengrabe in the Ostprignitz-Ruppin district in Brandenburg .

geography

The place is 6 kilometers northeast of Heiligengrabe, 6 kilometers northwest of Wittstock / Dosse and 40 kilometers northwest of Neuruppin . The neighboring towns are Wernikow Expansion in the north, Wernikow and Neu Biesen in the northeast, Biesen in the east, Glienicke in the southeast, Liebenthal in the south, Maulbeerwalde in the southwest, Könkendorf in the west and Blesendorf , Ganzow and Volkwig in the northwest.

Zaatzke includes the Glienicke part of the community and the Volkwig residential area.

history

The first written mention of the place comes from the year 1319, at that time in the spelling in Sazig . Later there are numerous other documents with different spellings of the place: 1333 in Szazic , 1375 to deme Sasick , 1390 to Saczeke , 1420 tu deme Tzaczek , 1470 Czaczke , 1488 tom Szaeske , tom Czaske , 1534 van Satsche and 1540 Czaetzke .

Before that belonged to the Wittstock district in the Prignitz , part of the Kurmark of the Mark Brandenburg , Zaatzke came to the Ostprignitz district in 1816 ; from 1939 named as the district of Ostprignitz. From 1952 the place belonged to the Wittstock district in the Potsdam district .

The community of Glienicke was incorporated into Zaatzke on May 1, 1974.

The municipality of Zaatzke lost its political independence on October 26, 2003 when it was incorporated into the municipality of Heiligengrabe.
