history
It was first mentioned in a document in 1335, when King Charles I of Hungary transferred the settlement to Petar, son of Nuzlin. Since then, the Nuzlin family has been called de Zabok and has been called " Zaboky de Zabok" since the 15th century .
From 1782 Sigismund Vojković von Vojkffy , former commander of the Banal Hussar Regiment , had a church built in Zabok, which was completed in 1805. With the abolition of serfdom, formerly unfree peasants could settle at the place of their choice. This resulted in a settlement of the area between Gredice and Bračak , with a settlement core forming around the church. Until 1918 the place belonged to the Hungarian Varasdin County . It was only after the Second World War that the city reached its present-day expansion, when the local area expanded north parallel to the railway line.
