Zarnsdorf is a village and a cadastral community in the Wolfpassing community in Lower Austria .

The village is located west of Wolfpassing in the Kleiner Erlauftal and was probably built in the 10th century as part of the Bavarian conquest . Originally laid out as a street village, the village is now south of the main road, because the village road has now been replaced by the L96 state road that runs past it. Today, the western part of Zarnsdorf in particular is characterized by lively settlement activity.

Settlement development

At the turn of the year 1979/1980 there was a total of 81 building areas with 27,206 m² and 123 gardens on 150,171 m² in the cadastral community of Zarnsdorf , in 1989/1990 there were 81 building areas. In 1999/2000 the number of building areas had increased to 121 and in 2009/2010 there were 137 buildings on 284 building areas.

Land use

The cadastral community is characterized by agriculture. At the turn of the year 1979/1980 258 hectares were used for agriculture and 38 hectares were forest areas. In 1999/2000 agriculture was carried out on 271 hectares and 39 hectares were designated as areas used for forestry. At the end of 2018, 235 hectares were used as agricultural land and forestry was carried out on 40 hectares. The average soil climate number of Zarnsdorf is 61.8 (as of 2010).
