Zdeněk Stromšík (born November 25, 1994 in Valašské Meziříčí ) is a Czech sprinter .

Athletic career

Zdeněk Stromšík gained his first experience in international championships at the 2010 Youth Olympic Games in Singapore , where he finished third in the C-final in the 100-meter run with 11.45 s. The following year he retired from the Junior World Championships in Barcelona with 11.02 s in the first round and could not finish his preliminary run with the Czech 4 x 100 meter relay. In 2013 he was fourth at the Junior European Championships in Rieti in 10.56 s and did not finish with the relay in the preliminary round again. In 2015 he took part in the 60-meter run at the European Indoor Championships in Prague , but was eliminated there with 6.74 seconds in the first round. In July he reached the semi-finals over 100 meters at the U23 European Championships in Tallinn , in which he was eliminated with 10.45 s. In addition, he won the silver medal behind France in 39.38 s with the Czech relay.

In 2017 he took part in the Summer Universiade in Taipei for the first time and was eliminated there with 10.68 seconds in the quarter-finals. The following year he was eliminated from the World Indoor Championships in Birmingham over 60 meters with 7.41 s in the first round and reached the semi-finals at the European Championships in Berlin , in which he was eliminated with 10.37 s. In addition, he reached the finals with the relay, in which he no longer started. In 2019 he was eliminated at the European Indoor Championships in Glasgow with 6.78 s in the semi-finals and at the World Relays in Yokohama he was eliminated with 38.77 s in the preliminary run, before he was then eighth in the Student World Games in Naples in 21.32 s 200-meter run . In addition, he reached the semifinals over 100 meters, in which he was eliminated with 10.51 s and was sixth with the Czech relay in 40.54 s.

In 2013 and 2017 Stromšík was the Czech champion in the 100-meter run and in 2013 also in the 4-by-100-meter relay. In the hall he secured the title over 60 meters in 2019.
