The Freier Vogel colliery is a former hard coal mine in Wetter-Vosshöfen . The colliery was also known as the Zeche Freye Vogel , Zeche Freievogel or Zeche Freie Vogel . The Freier Vogel colliery was the neighboring mine of the Löwe colliery .

history

The beginnings

A length field was awarded on August 19, 1722, after which the mine went into operation. Slate bank was mined in the seam using an Akeldruft . However, the Akeldruft only achieved a low construction height , for this reason it was necessary to create a tunnel as soon as possible . In 1739 a tunnel was driven from the Teimbecke towards the south. The tunnel was located north of today's Am Lurke road. In the years 1754/1755 the tunnel in the mining field broke through . The following was entered in the documents of the Mining Authority : " Stolln will be cut through on the first day in the Banck ". There is evidence that the mine was in operation in 1756. On April 22nd, 1761, the Längenfeld was given a new loan. The next day the pit field was measured by Johann Friedrich Heintzmann . Since the pit field had a length of 2600 meters and was therefore twice as large as permitted by law, a lawsuit was brought by the trades of the neighboring mines as a result. The mine was in operation in 1762, 1769 and 1775. In 1784 a production shaft was sunk , the shaft had a final depth of 40 holes . On June 30 of that year, the mine was by the head of the Mark Berg Revieres, the Baron von Stein , navigate . The Freier Vogel colliery was one of 63 mines that vom Stein used on his journey through the Brandenburg mountain area. Vom Stein gave information about the condition of the mine in his protocol. In particular, he mentioned that the mine did not currently have an active production shaft and that sinking work for the new shaft was therefore absolutely necessary.

The further operation until the unification

In 1787 the mine was listed in the Carte Speciale des mines du District de Wetter by Niemeyer. The tunnel from the Teimbecke was named on the map as the free bird tunnel . In 1798 the legal dispute with the neighboring mines ended. The excessively measured areas of the field were withdrawn from the Freier Vogel union due to the judgment of the appellate court. In 1821 the mine field was detached from the Trappe field by a tunnel cross cut . In 1828 an association was entered into with the Zeche Löwe for experimental work under the new name Zeche Löwe & Freier Vogel . In the following year the association was dissolved again. On March 12, 1838, a disputed subfield of the United Lion colliery was added retrospectively to January 1 of the same year. The remaining field of the Freier Vogel colliery was set in deadlines . In 1857 the field was cleared by the St. Peter colliery , and mining also went underground to the St. Peter colliery. At the end of 1861 the mine was shut down and started up again in 1863. After the colliery was in operation in 1865, the Freier Vogel colliery was shut down in 1870. In 1897, which was Berechtsame the colliery Trappe slammed shut.
