The United Edeltraud colliery was a hard coal mine in Holthausen near Hattingen . The colliery was also known under the name Zeche Edeltraud or Zeche Edeltraut . It emerged from the consolidation of the Edeltraud, Edeltraud II and the Edeltraud Erbstollen mine fields . The bottom of the tunnel in the United Edeltraud colliery was around twelve meters lower than the deepest tunnel in the neighboring Alte Haase mine .

history

Edeltraud Erbstollen

On June 4, 1850, the award of the Erbstollen fairness for the Edeltraud Erbstollen (also Edeltraut Erbstollen) and the award of a square . On October 15, 1857 Presentation of the square field Edeltraud II. On May 19 of 1858 asked of from King Steele originating Friedrich Dittmar about a new tunnel called Edeltraud tunnel excavate . It was planned to drive the tunnel in the direction of the larger still existing shaft of the Alte Haase colliery. In 1858, after the mining authorities had approved the excavation , the excavation of the tunnel began. The tunnel mouth hole was set on the Sprockhöveler Bach, near the forest path. The excavation was carried out with eight miners in a southerly direction. The first part of the tunnel was driven 60 meters with an incline of around 2.8 gons . On December 17, 1858, it was consolidated into the United Edeltraud colliery.

United Edeltraud

After the consolidation, the excavation of the Erbstollen was deferred in 1861 . On May 8, 1862, the Geviertfelder Vereinigte Edeltraud I and Vereinigte Edeltraud II were slammed into the Alte Haase colliery. In 1863 the tunnel was driven again to a length of 211¼ Lachtern . In 1863 the tunnel reached a length of 211¼ Lachter. In 1865 the tunnel was driven a further 59½ Lachter, mostly in solid sandstone . In the years 1865 and 1866 the tunnel reached the seam of the Alte Haase colliery . The seam was 36 inches thick . At that time the mine belonged to the Sprockhövel mining area . From now on a deeper carried solution of the first seam in the north wing of the coal mine Old Haase. The solution of the first seam through the tunnel was twelve meters deeper than the solution through the Alte Haase tunnel. The length of the tunnel was now 289 laughers. The coal reserves exposed in the mine field through the tunnel above the tunnel floor were around 85,000 tons of hard coal. Shortly after that was Kuxenmehrheit the union Edeltraud by the trades acquired the coal mine Old Haase. The mine was in operation from 1868 to 1869, after which it was closed for a few years after 1869. Coal mining began in 1871. In the following year, more than 250 tons of hard coal were extracted. The tunnel was driven again around 1875 , after which it was closed again. From 1892 onwards tunneling started again, but the tunneling was stopped after a short time because the tunnel crosscut that had begun did not bring enough depth gain . The total length of the tunnel at that time was 1,100 meters. In 1895, the final takeover by the Alte Haase mine took place.

Current condition

Pit water still flows from the Erbstollen into the Sprockhöveler Bach. The tunnel is now closed by a grid. Today the seam slate bench that was not suitable for mining, because it is too low reminiscent of the mine thickness has. Both relics of the former mine belong to the Alte-Haase-Weg Nord.
